Natayah Bauer, a first-generation student from Kirkland, is graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in multidisciplinary studies. She’s an active member of Western’s Women’s Rugby Team and has worked long hours to support herself as a shift lead at Spincycle Yarns’ mill in Bellingham.

She plans to speak at graduation about the importance of relationships: “The way we take care of ourselves and those around us is what brings happiness and could foster good growth in our communities,” she says.

After graduation, Natayah plans to continue working at Spincycle but eventually wants to go back to school to be an EMT or physician’s assistant.

“I don’t think school is ever finished,” she says. “We should always be learning.”
