Mitchell is graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in human services and minoring in Spanish. He’s also an LGBTQ+, first-generation college student and son of a single mom. At Western, he worked in the offices of Admissions, Alumni and the Western Foundation. He also completed a hometown internship at Vancouver Share, helping with rental assistance and eviction prevention programs during the pandemic. After graduation, Mitchell plans a career in college admissions. But first he’ll speak at graduation about how far he and fellow graduates have come, and about the importance of trusting your instincts and leaning into your network when you need to.
